Conversation Guide

Ground Rules

Start every conversation by reading these out loud to set the tone and expectation of safety.

  • We will stay kind and curious.
  • We won't advise each other or tie endless parallels to our own lives.
  • We will commit to prioritizing these conversations, coming prepared with self-reflection work done, and being honest.
  • We won't share what we hear elsewhere.
  • We will work hard to use "I" statements and personalize, rather than generalize, what we are learning.

Conversation Flow

  1. What was your experience like going through the imaginative prayer exercise(s)? Share as much as you're willing from what you wrote down.

  2. To act, think, or love like Jesus, we have to believe like Jesus. How does this challenge or affirm your perspective on how we change and grow spiritually?

  3. We each chose one loss from the past to intentionally grieve. Start by sharing as much as you're willing from what you wrote down.

    • What all did you experience while walking through that grief process?
    • How did it affect how you remember that event or loss?
  4. We each walked through the forgiveness worksheet with one person or memory in mind. Start by sharing as much as you're willing from what you wrote down.

    • What all did you experience while walking through that forgiveness process?
    • How did it affect how you think about that person or memory?
  5. We each brought one thing to God in repentance that had us anchored in the past. Start by sharing as much as you're willing from what you wrote down.

    • What all did you experience while walking through that repentance process?
    • How did it affect the guilt that you were carrying?
